TVMA Monthly Meeting. CLE program "The ABA and Tennessee Rules of
Mediator Conduct: Ethical Implications for the Today's Mediator". Tennessee Valley Unitarian Universalist Church, Kingston Pike
Description of CLE program: The Tennessee Supreme Court provides
Standards of Professional Conduct for Rule 31 Neutrals. Likewise, a
Model Standard of Conduct for Mediators was prepared and ultimately
adopted by a joint effort of the American Arbitration Association,
the American Bar Association?s Section of Dispute Resolution, and
the Association for Conflict Resolution. All of the aforementioned
entities provide rules and guidelines designed to ensure the ethical
practice of the mediator?s craft. The purpose of this training is to
compare and contrast the various ethical rules promulgated by those
entities devoted to alternative dispute resolution. A comparative
analysis of the ethical rules of surrounding states will also be
discussed, however, the essence of the training is geared towards
the ethical practices expected of Tennessee mediators. |
